Maajid Mushtaq Madni has 28 years of investment banking and financial services experience in the Middle East and Pakistan. He has worked on a range of transactions in Corporate & Sovereign Debt Restructurings, Debt Capital Markets,

Syndicated Finance, Equity-Linked Capital Markets, Debt Advisory, Project Finance Advisory, Privatizations and Proprietary Investments. He spent the last few years pursuing and executing various advisory and fund-raising mandates for SMEs and start-ups. In his previous role in Dubai, he was Managing Director & Head of Restructuring & Capital Markets at Eagle Investments Limited in DIFC. In this role he was primarily responsible for recapitalizing the balance sheet of the parent company and worked on the landmark NIG Exchangeable transaction.

Prior to this he was a Director with HSBC in Dubai where his responsibilities included originating and executing corporate debt restructuring, debt capital markets, syndicated loans and debt advisory transactions in mid-market UAE, Qatar, Kuwait, & Pakistan. In his earlier role as an Associate Director for HSBC Amanah, he was responsible for structuring & executing Islamic transactions in the region. Before HSBC Amanah, Mr. Madni was the Head of Strategic Business Development at Standard Chartered Bank in Pakistan where he launched investment banking and was an integral part of the bank’s efforts to reposition the bank in terms of its capability to deliver structured, innovative & value-added solutions to corporate and public sector clients. Prior to joining Standard Chartered Bank in 2000, he worked with Union Bank of Switzerland and in addition to pursuing and executing several landmark privatization and capital markets mandates, he helped the Government of Pakistan renegotiate and restructure

Its sovereign debt with the Paris Club group of creditors and also worked on the successful restructuring of its Eurobonds. He started his career with American Express Bank’s corporate finance & advisory group in Pakistan in 1994.
